Feckenham scored a goal in each half against AFC Smethwick to keep their faint hopes of winning Midland Combination Division 2 alive. The visitors played the first 21 minutes with 10 men, before the late-arriving goalkeeper took the field, and Feckenham took an early lead during this time. The points were secured with a 70th minute second goal and the game finished in very gloomy light due to a late kick-off. My delayed journey and difficulty in finding the ground entrance meant no pre-match photos of what was a picturesque village near Redditch. Also, it was good to watch the game in the company for Facebook friend Laurence and a couple of other fellow football travellers. The teams meet again in two days time on Saturday in the return fixture.
